Kidvestment

Kidvestment was a three year pilot project sponsored by the Family Friendly Workplace Group (FFWP), with week-long campaigns held in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Kidvestment was designed to raise awareness of work/family opportunities, put children and youth on the civic agenda and encourage working Calgarians to consider the importance of children and youth.

In November, 2006, the FFWP group decided to discontinue with Kidvestment, based on the following feedback from local employers:

Importance of considering broad work/life interests, not just families
Need to focus on specific work/family pressures directly affecting workforce participation, including childcare and eldercare
Lack of sufficient employer resources to organize an effective campaign, due to staffing and labour pressures

The FFWP group will focus their efforts on a new working relationship with Families Matter in 2007.

Dads at Work Pilot Project Evaluation
